Rings and how it Symbolized Colonial Times

A ring is characterized by a round band worn on the finger and it symbolizes various things such as ethnicity, unity, commitment and a band to present an engagement. The round shape of the ring symbolized eternal love and unending commitment to a man and a woman. Rings are commonly made of copper, silver, gold and iron and it is only during the 14th century that rings are made and is accessorized with gemstones and considered as jewelry.

The round gold band is the most common of all the rings and it is said that the ring originated in Ancient Egypt wherein the band is made of flowery ornament attached in a band, it symbolized promise of fidelity and love to one another. To the Romans, the offering of ring is more of a symbol of ownership rather than a symbol of their unending love.

A ring can be made of a simple gold band or a combination of gold with silver lining. This type of ring is commonly used during wedding and is the single band married people use the rest of their lives. Other rings that are formed on silver band with a diamond stone or any precious gemstone in it is commonly the ring you give during engagement.

The intricacy of a ring became more noticeable at the start of the 20th century. During this time, people learned how to express their love and commitment using rings as an offering.

The tradition of offering a ring to a person as an expression of eternal love has only been famous to the rich and mighty during the olden times because of its expensive and valuable aspect. As a token of friendship, care and affection, the ring was eventually adapted and has ever since evolved in dramatic transformation such as modern design and the addition of precious gems and pearls.

Today, a ring can be presented from a simple form of a round band to that of precious gemstone encased in a circle of silver and gold. It is also a trend that the wearer chooses her own birthstone to put in her ring as a symbol of iconic expression of fashion.

The September Birthstone – Sapphire

If you are reading this, I assume you have some amount of interest, belief or at the least curiosity in gemstone astrology. Well, if you are wondering, if I do believe in gem stone astrology, I am not sure. I have not made up my mind yet, but it is true that I have witnessed some remarkable improvements in the lives of those who have used birthstones for numerous benefits. Also, it is always interesting to explore such things, even though we might not believe in them completely. Be it Sun Signs, Palmistry or Numerology, people have always shown a keen interest in knowing future and what brings good luck to them. So why gem stone astrology should remain an exception here?

What Can Sapphire Birthstone Add to your Life?

Sapphire is believed to bring about emotional and physical balance in your life. Qualities like sympathy, purity and wisdom are often associated with this stone. Sapphire is also said to bring out the qualities needed for a harmonious relationship like faithfulness, sincerity and abundance of warmth and kindness. It is also said to enhance problem solving ability by inspiring clarity of thought. The stone is also said to protect the owner from engaging in thoughts that are evil in nature. It is believed that Sapphires were used to peek into the future. This precisely is the reason it is believed to enhance the intuitive power of the possessor.

When a close friend of mine was suffering from relationship problems within her family, someone recommended the use of sapphire birthstone to her (of course after proper consultation). Although I ridiculed the idea initially, looking at the way things have dramatically improved for her after she took the advice and started to wear sapphire birthstone ring, I cannot help but wonder if the same alternative will provide me long lasting solutions (since both of us were born in September).

Would I buy a Sapphire Birthstone to welcome these benefits into my life? Under normal circumstances, I may not completely believe that a stone can bring in miraculous effects in my life, but when the proof is right in front of my eyes, I do want to give it a shot and see for myself. Plus who wouldn’t love to invest in a fine piece of jewelry? What could be more gratifying than flaunting an authentic sapphire among friends and family while reaping heaps of benefits at the same time?
