The Pendant and What It Really Means
A pendant is a hanging object that is generally attached to a necklace or an earring. During the Victorian time, the presence of pendant in a bracelet was slowly adapted to make it a dangling band around the wrist. Pendants can either be a simple piece of carved wood attached to a string, a piece of shell that symbolizes marriage and romanticism or the greatness of special gemstone or pearl locked and secured in a miniature cage of iron gold or silver. Only during the medieval period that people start to wear the gold cross pendant. This type of pendant has been regarded greatly as it can come with any of their simplest costumes.
In the wake of the Victorian period, pendants made of special gemstones are finally valued and considered as part of their fashion style.
